“Every job is a self portrait of the person who does it. Autograph your work with excellence.” |
Jeannie Gibbs
Jeannie came to Hideaway from Dallas. She lived in Dallas mostly for 45
years. After her college years, her first real job was Dallas was one of 12
recently graduated Tour Guides hired to give tours in the new 62 story First
National Bank in downtown Dallas. She learned all about marble, art,
crystal, woods and etc to introduce the new Bank and all it's glory in 1965.
From there she became a full time Mom. Her life has always been in full
motion. While her children were in school her “Mom” years were filled with
volunteer work at the hospital, American Red Cross, 500 Inc., and the Dallas
Jr. League. With so much energy and wanting to make a difference,
volunteer work was very satisfying. After the children went to college, she
decided to get paid in a different way for her time. She worked as Office
Manager to Doctor's and Dental offices with as many as 15 employees. She
was also in Sr. management with Koons, Rasor, Fuller, and Montgomery, a
large law firm in Dallas.
Jeannie's best friend from high school was in Real Estate and she loved her
work and encouraged Jeannie to try it. Being the type of person that liked a
challenge, she decided Real Estate was interesting. So, in her mid-life crisis,
she became a Real Estate Agent. She quickly found Commercial Real Estate
an interesting area but always continued to sell homes. She was hired by two
Doctors to research properties for their personal portfolio, This was lucrative
and kept her real busy. Her love for decorating seemed to flourish when she
was asked to decorate a large office from the ground up. Then one thing lead
to another and she started decorating other offices and staging houses for
friends wanting to sell their homes. She found her niche and applied her
skills to the market place.
After much prayer, and the death of her younger sister and mom in the same
year, her priorities became a big factor. A whole new prospective on life was
about to emerge. Chasing the Gold Ring just didn't seem to have the same
luster it once held. God became her focal point and directed her to a
beautiful quite place not far from Dallas where his beauty was everywhere.
On her first visit Hideaway she felt this was the place God wanted her to
spend her life. The people were so welcoming, the homes were all
interesting, beautiful golf courses, Church, Mah Jongg, dark nights, birds
chirping, park parties, dance club, security and wonderful friends. Each person she met had an impact on her life.
Each time she drove through the
gates of Hideaway, a peace that passes all understanding would come over
her. She purchased a home and wanted to just take it all in. She was offered
a Real Estate position when she first arrived in Hideaway, but needed to
know all about Hideaway first. Two years later she was ready. She was
asked, “Why Real Estate now? The market is not good” but she saw a need
in this down market and wanted to help the people she loved and those in the
same position she had been two years ago. It is so easy to sell something you
love. She also wanted to use her expertise in decorating and the latest thing
in Real Estate was “Home Staging”. That was a perfect fit, Real Estate and
Home Staging.
Her first staging opportunity came shortly after joining
Pressley & Co. She staged a home one day and it produced a contract the
next day. That was very encouraging to see her expertise could make the
difference so quickly. Staging Homes offers a unique opportunity for our
clients and an added benefit when listing your home with us. Staging is
letting us present your home to prospective buyers and to maximize it's
potential. Making changes to a home can be as modest as rearranging
furniture, completing a fresh look, or just some new paint. She takes her
knowledge and experience to get your home sold quickly and for the best
price.
Selling the excitement of Hideaway, the joys of Hideaway and peace of
Hideaway to others just like herself gives her great pleasure. Call Jeannie for
any Real Estate needs. |
